Eva Michelle & Family Publishing

Eva-Michelle & Family Publishing was founded by Jamaican writer and creative Kabrena Robinson.

After choosing to become a stay-at-home mom, she found that her day-to-day life was centred around the world of books, whether it was reading multiple children’s books to her daughter daily or indulging in her leisurely reading.

The journey began when she decided to self-publish her first children’s book,
Two Homes, a book inspired by her daughter’s love for the two places she gets to call home (Canada and Jamaica).

Throughout her self-publishing experience, she discovered the many online avenues available for authors to publish their work outside of traditional publishing. As a result, she decided to use her knowledge and experience in writing and copy editing to assist others, hoping to start their journey to becoming authors.

We all have stories to tell and are worthy of our voices being heard. At Eva-Michelle & Family Publishing, we aim to help you express your creativity and put your work out into the world.

Love Up Yuh Self, Likkle One encourages children to practice self-love.

Self-love is the best love. Through self-love, they can achieve anything, be their best selves and spread that light to others. Through self-love, we make the world a better place.

Love Up Yuh Self, Likkle One is written in poetic form using a mix of English, Patois (Patwa) and Caribbean dialect, with vibrant and fun images reminiscent of the sweet West Indies.

The poetry is inspired by late Jamaican poet and storyteller Louise Bennett-Coverley, known and beloved as “Miss Lou”, whose work has paved the way for literature that celebrates and embraces Caribbean culture and dialects. May her legacy continue to live on.
